Costa Rica Yacht Charter – Itinerary

DAY 1
Arrive at San Jose’s Santa Maria International Airport where your Costa Rica Master Naturalist will meet you. You will tour Costa Rica’s West Coast by van on your way to embark upon your yacht you have chartered from Taylor’d Yacht Charters at the yacht club at Bahia Herradura.  Upon embarkation, you will be pampered, as you enjoy an evening cruise to Tortuga Island to relax at anchor.  You will be amazed at the beauty and quiet that surrounds you.

DAY 2
After a sumptuous breakfast prepared by our five-star chef, you will visit our first tropical forest at the Curu Wildlife Refuge.  You will follow your Costa Rican Master Naturalist as he explains the mysteries of the white-faced and mantled howler monkeys, white-nosed coatis, three toed sloths, toucans, and butterflies in this spectacular sanctuary.  In the afternoon, relax at anchor next to Isla Tortuga where you can swim, kayak, snorkel, dive, or beachcomb.

DAY 3
After breakfast you will be transfered to the local Tambor airstrip where your private plane will take you on a short flightseeing trip across the breadth of the country.  Arrive in the world famous Del Monte banana fields where you will be transferred to the Pacuare River.  Here we will have an exciting trip down one of the most luxuriant rainforest rivers in the world.  Lunch will be served alongside a beautiful waterfall as you enjoy the breathtaking beauty of one of the world’s greatest rafting rivers.  An afternoon flight will take you to the town of Quepos where the crew of your chartered yacht from Taylor’d Yacht Charters will welcome you back aboard for a relaxing sunset dinner and drinks.

Day 4
In the morning you will explore the beaches and treasures of Isla Del Cano.  Snorkel the hidden world of the submarine caves with their spotted hawk rays, schools of barracuda, white tipped sharks, spotted dolphins, and thousands of beautifully colored fish.  Hike the island in search of the mysterious spheres left behind centuries ago by ancients as tributes to their ancestors.  At night you will enjoy a relaxing evening at anchor in beautiful Drake Bay.

Day 5
Today you will experience Corcovado National Park as you travel to Serina, the center of this magnificent rainforest.  Here you will “discover” many species of plants and animals found nowhere else on the planet. Some of the world’s healthiest wild cats are found here, along with Costa Rica’s largest population of scarlet macaws and several species of monkeys.  Upon your return to your yacht from Taylor’d Yacht Charters in Puerto Jimenez, we will enjoy an evening of fine food, drinks and storytelling.

Day 6
On day 6 we travel south to the Port of Armuellis in Panama, where you will board a private bus that will take you to the exciting and world famous Cloud Forest.  Located in the village of Boquite, this is a prime spot for viewing a variety of wildlife, including the exotic Quetzel.

Day 7
On day 7 you will cruise to Coiba Island. You will enjoy snorkeling and diving the reefs, or even try your hand at the great deep sea fishing in the area.  The abundant sea life includes several species of whales, turtles, and colorful fish.  Later, enjoy the rich biodiversity of Coiba’s lush tropical rain forests, home to such rare creatures as the world famous red and green macaw.
