Galapagos Yacht Charter – Luxury Yacht Charter – Itinerary

Day 1 Galapagos:  Quito

Breakfast at your hotel and transfer to the airport to board the flight to Galapagos.  The flight from Quito (via Guayaquil) to Baltra airport in Galapagos takes around 2 and a half hours.  You will arrive at Baltra airport. You will be met and transferred to your Taylor’d Yacht Charters boat by a guide.  Grab a snack and have an orientation by the guide while traveling to nearby Plazas Sur where there are large sea lion colonies, land iguanas, opuntia cacti, swallow-tailed gulls, and red-billed tropic birds, etc.  The duration of your land visit will be approximately 2-3 hours.  There is a possibility of snorkeling when you arrive at your yacht.

Day 2 Galapagos:  Santa Cruz, Charles Darwin Station/Highlands

In the morning you will arrive at Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Research Station.  You can walk through the town souvenir shopping if desired.   In the afternoon you will see the lush greenery of the Santa Cruz Highlands is a definite contrast with the arid scenery of the smaller, lower islands.  A point of interest is the famed lava tunnels, a fun and geologically informative visit.

Day 3 Galapagos: Española, Gardner Bay/Punta Suarez

In the morning your yacht chartered from Taylor’d Yacht Charters will take you and your guests to Gardner Bay and Hood Island.  Snorkeling, relaxing on the beach,  and a panga ride will all take about 2 1/2 hours. A panga is a small, shallow skiff.  In the afternoon your yacht will go to Punta Suarez where you will see large colonies of blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, marine iguanas, albatrosses, and swallow tailed gulls.

Day 4 Galapagos: Floreana, Punta Cormorant/Post Office Bay

On the morning of day 4 your yacht will move to Punta Cormorant (Floreana) to visit  a lagoon, where you will find flamingoes and other birds, and a beautiful white sand beach where sea turtles nest.   You can snorkel at Devil’s crown. In Post Office Bay (Floreana) during the afternoon your yacht’s tender will take you for a short visit to the historic Post Office Barrel.  Your Taylor’d Yacht Charters boat will make an early departure to the island, Isabela, looking for whales and dolphins while we travel.

Galapagos Yacht Charter – Day 5 Galapagos: Isabela, Punta Moreno/Bahia Elizabeth

Go for a 3 hour walk through lava fields and flamingo lagoons in Punta Moreno (isabela).   You will see some cormorants and penguins. In the afternoon you can go on a panga ride in Bahia Elizabeth.  Here you may see more penguins, cormorants, and sea turtles amid the quiet mangrove lagoons.
Day 6 Galapagos: Isabela,Urbina Bay/ Fernandina: Punta Espinoza

In the morning of day 6 you may go on a relatively long walk to see land iguanas and marine iguanas, a variety of native and endemic plants, and the remains of raised seabed exposing corral heads and other marine fossils.  Nesting cormorants and sometimes a few Galapagos Tortoises can be seen in their natural habitat.  Later you can see large colonies of marine iguanas, flightless cormorants nesting, penguins, and baby sea lions in Punta Espinoza (Fernandina Island)  Another adventure in snorkeling can be had here.

Day 7 Galapagos: Santiago, Puerto Egas and Bartolome Island

On a coastal morning walk exploring the great variety of tidal marine life in Puerto Egas (Santiago), you may see Galapagos fur seals.   Swimming and snorkeling is the another morning activity in Puerto Egas.  A panoramic view of Bartolome and it’s famous Pinnacle Rock can be seen on a hike.  Again you can swim and snorkel to your heart’s content with a possibility of seeing more penguins.

Galapagos Yacht Charter – Day 8 Galapagos/ Quito

At Caleta Tortuga Negra (Black Turtle Cove), you will get to know the Galapagos Green Sea Turtles that really are green, not black, as in the name of their location.  Return to Baltra in time for a flight to mainland Ecuador.  Upon your arrival in Quito, you will transfer to your hotel and await your flight departure time.  What a great time to talk about all the wonders you saw and fun you had on your charter in the Galapagos Islands.
