USA Yacht Repositioning 2011
Now is the time to take advantage of yachts repositioning from their winter home port to their summer home port. This would be like from the Florida to New England. The repositioning is an expensive voyage for the yacht owner, so many of them give very attractive discounts to charterers interested in one way trips. The charter can be broken up into one week sections from Florida to new England. Here are several interesting segments:
Ft. Lauderdale – St. Augustine
St. Augustine – Savannah
Savannah – Charleston
Charleston – Moorehead City
Moorehead City – Norfolk
Norfolk – Chesapeake
Chesapeake – Philadelphia
Philadelphia – Atlantic City
Atlantic City – New York City
New York City – Newport
An example of this is the owner of M/Y Symphony II is offering 50% off the weekly charter rate of $49, 599 for charters beginning August 1, 2011. Expenses would be 30% of the normal charter rate. In a perfect world, the idea is for the yacht to try and offset some of their travel expenses going north, so they are willing to offer a %50 discount off the charter rate to get this accomplished. The itinerary is somewhat flexible at this time – the only restriction is that the yacht would have to travel in a northerly direction to make this work for the owner.
In the past few years M/Y Victorian Rose has offered weekly rate $12,900 + expenses but free fuel for the trip North. We should have many others offers shortly. Watch our What’s Hot page…
